The Nordkette funicular

From the city center, you can take a cable car to the very top of Nordkette. This mountain is one of the highest in the region. As you can imagine, it offers incredible views over the valley. If you’d like to relax and enjoy a hot drink, there’s a little chalet at the top that doubles as a café. Don’t forget to try the apple strudel.

The Hofburg imperial palace was founded in the 15th century. At the time, it was the residence of the Habsburg family. Redesigned by Empress Maria Theresa in the 18th century, it blends Baroque and Rococo styles.
