Ski Dubai (the name given to this very special place), is the largest indoor ski slopeIn the world! Here you can ski, snowboard and do a whole range of winter activities…

Like drinking a glass of mulled wine at the chalet located at the top of the slope. To take full advantage of this ski slope, you have to go to the Mall of the Emirates, the biggest shopping mall in the small emirate.

In short, this is an unusual activity. Indeed, Dubai is not necessarily known as THE most winter sports oriented city in the world.

All in all, there are 5 ski slopes available for the most athletic among you. Naturally, the slopes are of different difficulties. The first one is for beginners. The last one, the steepest, is classified as black. It measures about 400 meters, with a slope of 15%!

In addition to the downhill slopes, Ski Dubai offers several other activities, such as a freestyle zone. A zone generally frequented by snowboarders. For children, a large 3,000 square meter park is also available. Finally, a large zip line of 150 meters long, at 16 meters high, crosses the building.

In this respect, it is essential to remember that, no matter which formula you select, the equipment is provided! Ski, snowboard, poles, wetsuits and helmets are included in the package. The snow is logically artificial!

The ski resort in Dubai is open all year round. Depending on the day, the opening hours vary:

  • Friday – Saturday: the Dubai ski resort is open from 9am to midnight;
  • Sunday – Wednesday: It is possible to ski in Dubai from 10am to 10pm;
  • Thursday: the resort is open from 10am to midnight.

Please note that not everyone can enter. Indeed, children under 3 years old are not allowed to ski. For children from 3 to 12 years old, they must be accompanied by an adult. Finally, a minimum level is required to be able to take the skis. Indeed, if you have never set foot on a ski or snowboard, you will have very little chance of being accepted.

There are “only” two options to fully enjoy skiing in Dubai:

  • The “Small budget” formula: these are 2-hour sessions, for a total of 220 AED (54 euros);
  • The “Day” formula: it is an unlimited access to the slopes, for the day, for one person. It costs 320 AED (79 euros).

It is important to note that by booking online, you get a discount of 10AED (the local currency in Dubai), per person. This is not a huge discount but it does lower the final price of access to the slopes.
