The museum of the comic strip of Brussels is located rue des Sables. It is housed in a sumptuous art nouveau building, designed in 1906 by the artist Victor Horta. Today, this museum, also known as the Belgian Comic Strip Center, is recognized worldwide as THE place for the 9th art.
What you will find at the Belgian Comic Strip Center (CBBD)
The CBBD gathers many universes. Indeed, on site, you will find spaces specifically dedicated to the greatest heroes of the Belgian comic culture, such as:
- Lucky Luke ;
- Gaston Lagaffe ;
- Tintin ;
- Boule and Bill ;
- The Marsupilami ;
- The Smurfs.
Permanent exhibitions are proposed, as well as some temporary ones, which are frequently renewed, in order to transport you in a new and surprising universe each time.

The reading room
In addition to the exhibitions, the CBBD puts at your disposal a large reading room, in which you will find… More than 3.000 albums to read! Naturally, these albums are to be read on the spot, you will not be able to take them away.
To access this room, you just have to show your museum entrance ticket. Don’t worry, it is also possible for people who don’t have a ticket to enter, for an entrance fee of 0.50€.
The room is rather large and very well laid out, with a cosy style that invites you to relax and read. In short, everything is gathered so that you can spend an excellent moment.
The documentation center
Not just anyone can enter the CBBD documentation center. Indeed, only those over 16 years old are allowed to enter. The single entrance fee is 1.50€. It is possible to opt for a 10-day subscription, which costs 12€.

The CBBD, the Belgian Comic Strip Center, is open every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm.
