If there is one museum in Amsterdam that attracts visitors, it is the Anne Frank House. A museum full of history, which traces the last two years of the Frank family’s life, from their departure from Nazi Germany and their arrival in Amsterdam, to the discovery of their small dwelling, called the “Annex” and their departure for the concentration camps. An incredible story, which takes on even more significance once you get there.

HOW TO VISIT ANNE FRANK’S HOUSE?

Visiting the Anne Frank House Museum is easy. You have to go to the following address

The museum is open from 9am to 7pm between November and March. In June, July and August, the museum stays open until 10 pm, to the delight of tourists.

HOW TO GET TICKETS FOR ANNE FRANK’S HOUSE?

The museum is accessible with a simple ticket purchased online, directly on the museum’s website, or on site. However, we recommend that you plan ahead and reserve your seat well in advance. The queue can be excessively long!

It costs 18.50 euros for an adult ticket, 12.50 euros for a child ticket (10 to 17 years old) and 7 euros for a child ticket (0 to 9 years old).

IS A VISIT TO ANNE FRANK’S HOUSE WORTH IT?

Without a doubt, the Anne Frank House is probably the most poignant museum in Amsterdam. It traces the life of this young teenager who tried everything to hide from the Nazi barbarism.

You will discover all the rooms of the house in which the young woman lived and especially, in which she hid in order to write the few pages that will form her unforgettable diary.

It takes about an hour to go around the house. 60 minutes for a little piece of history: believe you me, you won’t regret it. Of course, pictures and videos will be presented at the end of the tour, so you can linger a little longer.

IS ANNE FRANK’S HOUSE IN AMSTERDAM THE REAL THING?

Many people ask this question. The answer is yes. The Anne Frank House in Amsterdam is the house in which the young teenager lived before she was deported at the age of 15.

This apartment, also known as “The Annex”, is a three-level space located in the main building:

  • On the first level, there are two small rooms, including a bathroom with toilet ;
  • On the second level, an open space, with a small living room;
  • On the third level, an attic.

The family left the apartment on August 4, 1944, following its discovery.

CAN WE VISIT ANNE FRANK’S HIDING PLACE?

Of course, it is possible to visit Anne Frank’s hiding place. Anne Frank lived mainly in the attic. It was there that her writings were found and collected.
